So much for expecting this to be a Rest Day-Nathalie's second near international relations incident

Well it was a bit of a lazy day in hindsight, but lots of fun, adventure and some danger....

Wandered down to the T-mobile store, a couple of blocks cross town( for the Aussies ....just down that street turn right and it's there,money your left....you know the shop with the purple signs) ...Cross town,down town,many measuring distances in blocks is foreign to us, but certainly the  lingua Franca down here in the US.  Ther reference to 'down here' will become apparent later....where were we...oh that's right at the T mobile store being served by a Derek, who sold me $50..ish of an unlimited in country call SIM card for the antique phone I have.......

 BUT IT DIDN'T WORK...so four hours later Andrew had to go back to Derek....who had given him a  SIM card to a useless number.....what is it about ABC and technology.

Walked down to the UPS, and two of you lucky readers will be getting a post card from here...is it YOU?   Probably not.... so don't get your hopes up.

Off to 'Kangaroo Mobile' 19 blocks from J&Ds B&B, where for $135 the iPad mini, infamous from yesterday's blog, was fixed.....the walk was plesant, through the 'burbs, and back.  Bit cheeky using a kangaroo as his business name...I thought we had that copyrighted.

The afternoon was great, with Droni trusting Andrew to drive her car to Costco...to pick up some supplies for the expedition out East......but there was almost a brawl when a rude 'lady' pushed in front of Nathalie and Droni as they were waiting at the chekout.....and then accused Nathalie and Droni of having 'attitude'.  Andrew was taking the first load of shopping to the car.  Nathalie was concerned she was going to pull out a gun...but as Andrew observed,

1. Some people just should not wear tights and  2.  with tights that fully packed,she wasn't hiding any gun in her undies.......US bogan.  Andrew was going to take a picture, but for some reason was advised against same...maybe it was the revolver in the bra?

Out for 'genuine' Californian Mexican food, with J&D and Droni's brother Wei and his wife Rebecca...

.absolutely lovely meal, with the waiter trying to 'hit' on the blonde Sheila by admiring her Opium perfume, and Andrew being reminded he hadn't appreciated that Nathalie smelt good and certainly hadn't reminded Nathalie that he(Andrew) knew she went to the effort of putting the smelly stuff on... So no tips for that waiter.... No he was very entertaining(the waiter) appreciating that we all ordered tequila and water, but hold the tequila.  Good to be guided by the locals..

Right...Wei, Droni's brother is a coffee aficionado, this, we have been told is an understatement.  We returned to J&D s B&B for post prandial coffee giving us a chance to learn how to drive the aero press, and the frother that Wei donated to the ' Aussies.

There was a conversation over coffee and brownie....which led to photos being shown, and there is a good reason that our wedding photos are in that folder...see Punjabi Predelections...Which led to a statement that Andrew in his wedding photo looks like Benedict Cumberbatch, who eva' he is.  Andrew reckons he is more handsome...

But Andrew thinks he is far more handsome.

Big day tomorrow...collect the car...drive all the way to Monterey Bay ( there's a song in that!), and see the fishes...in the dishes ( nup too much like dr Seuss ). Good night from us in the US
